Laverton Data Centre required a practical hardstand solution to support site access and temporary parking while the broader project progressed under budget and program constraints.

Maintaining workable access while constructing the hardstand was the primary constraint. The site couldn’t afford extended closures deliveries, trades, and project traffic needed continuous movement throughout construction. Our team sequenced the works into zones, completing formation and concrete in staged sections so access routes remained open. Concrete deliveries and pours were aligned with site logistics to avoid blocking critical entry points or creating bottlenecks during peak activity periods.

Survey set-out and level verification were maintained throughout to achieve consistent finished levels and clean tie-ins across the area. Formation was trimmed to design grade before concrete placement, eliminating high spots that could compromise thickness or create drainage issues. Once poured, surface falls were checked to ensure water would shed correctly critical for a hardstand that needs to perform in wet conditions without ponding or surface deterioration.

By controlling formation preparation, surface falls, and finish quality, the hardstand was delivered as an operational asset suited to daily use. The consistent concrete finish supports ongoing site activity, provides reliable access for construction vehicles, and reduces near-term maintenance risk as the broader data centre project advances.
