At Mickleham West Secondary School, the priority was a stable asphalt circulation network capable of handling daily pick-up, drop-off and service movements while holding performance over time.
Quantum Civil completed bulk and detailed earthworks across the primary circulation zones, establishing formation and preparing the platform for pavement construction in line with education-sector performance expectations.
Subsurface improvement works were incorporated where ground conditions required additional treatment. Localised soft soils were identified as a bearing-capacity and settlement risk, so proof-rolling was used to confirm the extent of affected areas before pavement build-up progressed.
Unsuitable material was undercut and replaced with engineered fill, with compaction verified prior to asphalt placement to protect long-term pavement performance and reduce the likelihood of early distress under repeated school loading.
With levels verified and the platform conditioned, the finished asphalt corridors provide a durable, low-maintenance access outcome that supports ongoing campus operations with reduced settlement risk.
