Mickleham Alexandra Park Redevelopment required a long-life pavement and circulation outcome capable of supporting constant public use while managing variable ground conditions and multiple precinct interfaces.
Quantum Civil delivered the external civil works package, beginning with bulk and detailed earthworks and proof-rolling to confirm subgrade performance and identify any areas requiring remediation before pavement build-up commenced.
Targeted subsurface improvement was incorporated to address unstable founding material. Where soft soils and settlement risk were identified, unsuitable subgrade was undercut and replaced with select structural fill, with compaction verified prior to placing pavement layers to protect long-term performance and reduce whole-of-life maintenance exposure.
Following platform preparation, heavy duty concrete pavements were constructed in higher-load zones and asphalt pavements through key circulation areas, coordinating levels and transitions at tie-ins so surfaces remained consistent and fit for purpose across the precinct.
Concrete edging, demarcation and street furniture were installed to define movement lines and improve usability, with staging and interface checks used to maintain access where required and protect finished surfaces through staged handover.
