Community facility contractors in North Melbourne delivering external civil works and public realm finishing for growing suburbs
SCOPE OF WORK
- Bulk + Detailed Earthworks
- Concrete Edging
- Light Duty Concrete Pavement (plain grey)
- Demarcation & Street Furniture
- Concrete Crossovers
Merrifield South Community Centre’s external works were delivered as the final civil package that turns a construction site into a functional civic interface – safe access, clear circulation and handover-ready presentation for a high-use public facility.
Quantum Civil delivered bulk and detailed earthworks to establish formation and bring surrounding areas to level, with survey set-out used to control grades, interfaces and critical tie-in points across the external footprint.
The scope then progressed through concrete edging, plain grey concrete pavements and concrete crossovers, providing durable pedestrian and vehicle surfaces and defining the hardstand edges required to support day-to-day use and ongoing maintenance practicality.
With multiple live interfaces and a high risk of rework if sequencing slipped, staging was managed as a key control. Levels and falls were verified continuously so transitions remained consistent, finished surfaces drained as intended, and completed concrete could be protected while adjacent areas were brought up to grade.
Demarcation and street furniture were installed to formalise movement lines and improve usability, resulting in a coherent, durable public realm outcome that supports everyday community use and a tidy handover standard.
