Birnbial Family Centre

Birnbial Family Centre required the external hardstand and finishing works delivered to a public-facing standard as the building approached handover, with reliable drainage performance and tight interface tolerances at entries and façade tie-ins.

Quantum Civil delivered the surrounding civil scope, commencing with bulk and detailed earthworks to establish formation, grades and crossfalls before constructing concrete edging to define pavement extents and protect key interface lines.

Asphalt pavements were then placed through the primary circulation and hardstand areas, with demarcation and street furniture installed as the finishing package to formalise movement lines and complete presentation.

The key constraint was maintaining tight levels at façade and entry interfaces while managing asphalt placement logistics. Hold-point set-out checks and staged asphalt runs were used to lock in finished levels, protect edges and maintain clean tie-ins, reducing rework risk and preventing trip points or drainage inconsistencies.

The completed surrounds provide a robust arrival and service interface with predictable surface falls, smoother circulation and reduced risk of early edge breakdown or ponding, delivered to a tidy, handover-ready standard suited to ongoing community use.
